happy thanksgiving everyone! had a great night seeing lots of old broughton (high school) friends, woke up ran our annual 8K with some great friends, showered and getting ready to go eat. yummm. can't wait for some squash casserole, yes that is my favorite thanksgiving dish. feeling so thankful today for wonderful friends and family who support me and love me always. and thankful all the blessing God has so gracefully given me. today helps me take a chance to step back and remember how much i truly have to be thankful for, which i need to do more often. not everything may be perfect but God's got it under control and He is opening my eyes to all the wonderful things around me. can't help but be filled with joy on this gorgeous day.

so i'm obsessed with autumn time, if you couldn't tell. today i was driving and the sun was at that perfect height that it always seems to be at these days, and the trees were glowing and i was thinking about what a gift it is that we get to experience this beautiful world. it probably would've been just as easy for God to let the leaves turn brown and die in the winter, but he took the time to paint them bright and beautiful and vibrant, so that we may take a little more happiness and joy from our surroundings. just a thought i was having... that its these tiny little touches that show us how much our Lord loves us, and cares about us down to the most intimate details.

a little late on my post here. if you don't know, i love country music and was dying through most of the CMA's on thursday night. what a great show! used to video record the show in elementary school (before DVR) so i could catch up on missed performances the next day. here was my favorite of the evening, what a great tribute to willie nelson! crying over tim and faith.

notice that autumn is a season more of the soul than of nature.

literally can't get enough of fall. here's to taking the long way home so i can listen to a great song, soak in the sunlight and feel the cool breeze through my window. i will be depressed when all the leaves have fallen.
