it's so hard to believe that 11 years ago i sat in mr. price's 6th grade homebase class hearing the news that there had been a terrorist attack in new york. i didn't even know what the world trade center was or even really what a terrorist attack was, all i remember was being scared and feeling uncertain about the future of my country...

today looking back my heart opens to all of those who lost loved ones in the tower, on flight 93 and in the pentagon whether it be victims of the attack or those who gave their lives trying to save others. seeing this country's patriotism on a day like today makes me wish that everyday we could all join around one another and work for the good of this nation. just a reflective day and a day in which i am so thankful for my freedom and my safety and i am so proud to call America my home.
"terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. these acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of the American resolve. America was targeted for attack because we are the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. and no one will keep that light from shining." - george w. bush (september 11, 2001)
